Let's Travel Back in Time!

Unfortunately, it's impossible to travel back in time- but it's our decision to choose if we'd like to sit in our room and regret about our poor choices or we could simply look forward to the future, learning from the past!

Funny.. the other day when me and a couple of friends had a get together, some of my friends told me they traveled back in time- with the proof of a photo! The newer public transit buses show the time and date on the front of the bus for the passengers to see.. and the date we had a hangout, they bused together to find the date being August 1998.

Anyway, in honour of time, here's to this bright and playful outfit: a chiffon polka-dot overalls from Forever 21 and a mint lace top from Forever 21, and a pair of polka dot sneakers I snagged from China.

The gorgeous flowers and trees and a vast blue sky- the feeling of forever!

A close up on my bracelet that reads NICOLE
My sister got me this bracelet with my name on it when she went on a tour band with her school band group. They traveled east of Canada to Quebec- lucky!

Haha, I know what you're thinking... it's just leaves..

Formal blazer and a Casual Romper

Hey everyone!  Hope everyone is enjoying their day thus far! Within the last week, I can't believe I watched 2 movies.. of course, it might not be a lot to some people, but I'm not a big "movie person" though it's probably the number one "hangout idea" with anyone.

Friends: "Let's meet up this weekend!"
Me: "Sure! Let's watch a movie- what movie?"

Anyway, I watched How To Train Your Dragon 2 (didn't watch 1 yet) and The Truth In Our Stars. They were actually both touching with some funny scenes- I would recommend them! Now, onto my outfit- mixing a blue, formal blazer with a casual print romper. I'm getting really hyped up about mixing different pieces together lately, haha. I would say this outfit is good for casual events such as lunch or breakfast.. maybe a little under semi-formal, too!

What are your plans for the weekend? Thoughts on mixing something formal with something casual? Thanks for reading!

Vintage from Head to Toe!

Don't you just love it when you incorporate some clothes from your mom/grandmother/aunt/any other family member 's old collection (basically, hand-me-downs) into one of your going-out outfits? I love it when that happens because I usually get bugged at for spending too much money on new purchases while I have piles of hand-me-downs from my family, stored in the back of my closet where they usually never see the light of the day, except perhaps once or twice a year.

So, since summer break started, I started cleaning and clearing my whole room- from the old notes to the desk, bed, bookshelf, and to the closet- Voila!  Here's to the birth of this outfit  with this button-up floral shirt, white shorts (the double pockets at the front can't seem to stop flipping up though), the beige knit bag, and these black shoes.

Outfit Details:
Top/ Shorts/ Bag/ Shoes: hand-me-down

Since I'll be moving to another province to study in Fall 2014, I thought this would be the perfect chance to splurge on clothes and more (and my sister thought it'd be the perfect time to raid my closet), but unfortunately, I was recommended to save money... we'll see how that goes...

Anyway, thanks for reading and have a great day!

Comfy Patterns

Happy Canada Day to all the Canadians out there! It's a sunny day with some light wind today in Edmonton- yay! Wearing this grey button-up cardigan from Urban Planet I bought around one year ago ($10 on sale) and the shorts were from roughly two years ago for only $3.33 (3 for $10)!

When I was on the bus heading home after my last exam, I was formulating a list of "summer to-do's"- making myself stay productive for summer. Crazy how after summer started, I'm beginning to ignore that list. I think we should all relax and just enjoy life- that's the point of summer! Of course, I will still have to accomplish some major must-do's such as getting my driver's license and completing my grade 8 piano repertoire exam (I also have 3 piano performances to do this summer!), but I won't be pressuring myself too hard; after all, summer break is the time to relax, enjoy, and reflect upon your past school year (for the students out there) to make improvements!

Feet Care Products from TheFaceShop

Hello everyone! My last exam ended just a few days ago- on Wednesday- and it's already hard to believe I won't be able to walk down that same hallway, see the amazing people flood the school, and learn from those positive and wise teachers anymore. I spent these past few weeks studying for exams and diplomas, and I can tell you that hard work (but make sure it's also quality work) pays off! Next year, I'll be attending university and I sure hope it won't be a big jump from high school! To top that off, I won't be attending my hometown university I was always determined to go to- instead, I will be heading down to another province in Canada! Hopefully it will be a memorable and great experience.

Anyway, it's been quite awhile since a beauty post.. and since I could finally do some shopping these days (as I'm less busy, but still have events packed in these 2 months), I decided to share my recent two purchases from TheFaceShopIt's a Korean beauty store that sells beauty products, related to skincare, makeup, and more. I'm definitely going to be buying there before I head to university to stock up on new products for my skin too!

I bought these two foot care products from the store as I felt I don't care much for my feet as I should have. My dry feet was tingling when I bought them, haha!

Smile Foot Scrub  & Smile Foot Cream
Description from the packaging:

Smile Foot Scrub:
A foot scrub that contains AHA and Bromelain from pineapple helps remove dead skin cells on foot and keeps it smooth. Spread the scrub on wet feet and massage. Wash off after the massage. Put feet in warm water for couple of minutes before applying for greater effect.

Smile Foot Cream:
A foot & heel cream that contains Urea and plant extracts keeps foot moisturized.
After washing thoroughly, apply adequate amount on your feet. Apply on the heel cream to thed parts.

Now, onto the review!

Here's a small squirt of the solution from the Smile Foot Scrub!

A thick texture with "sand particles" embedded. Loved it on my feet as I massaged it! It has a fresh, and natural green apple (with pineapple, but a stronger apple smell) odour with it. Absolutely enjoyed the process of washing my feet with it!

The medium-thick texture of the cream
The odour was light and natural- green apple & peppermint. You can feel it instantly moisturize your feet, especially your heels. The instructions said to apply it twice on the heels.

All in all, there is no instant magic in making your feet dry-free and crack-free, but over the long term your feet will definitely be moisturized with no cracks from dryness! The only negative for me will be the price. Each of them was $12 CAD each. Again, since this is my first time purchasing foot-care products, I don't have other products to compare with. However, I'm sure that I'll be purchasing another set of the Smile Foot products soon!

Have you ever bought any of TheFaceShop's products before? Any suggested products? And, last question- how do you care for your feet? (Need some tips!)

High School Graduation

Hi everyone! I've been MIA for so long it's just too embarrassing... haha! There is just so much going on and I'm just going to show you a few sneak peaks into my high school banquet that happened near the end of May! For those who are going to have a high school graduation soon, I hope this gives you some insight into what others are dressing up like, haha! :) Oh, right: for your information, I'm the girl with the strapless long royal blue chiffon dress which also has a strip of speckles of black beads on the top.

Thanks for reading and I shall be back with more, hehe!

Knit Skeleton with Florals

G'morning everybody! It's a holiday today because of Victoria Day, so hooray for an outfit shot! This long weekend was full of reading and piano playing- I'm having my grade eight repertoire piano exam in August! I'll be talking more about that as that day comes :)

Anyway, for today's outfit- a hand-me-down romper with a light knit top (has a skeleton print on it, too)! I thought the romper was actually a dress until I tried it on today- boy was it awkward to find out it was a romper! It's still a cute piece, though.

This nice, loose top was bought during my vacation at San Diego, California, from Fashion Q. Now thinking about it, I should have splurged there! (I was browsing through their store, admiring their pieces and affordable prices, but hiding my wallet.. grrr.) The shoes were also bought somewhere in San Diego, but I can't recall which store it was from.

Outfit Details:
White top: Fashion Q
Romper: Hand-me-down

Anyway, thanks for reading and have a great week ahead of yourselves!
